March 2024 Committee Updates
Techincal- Mark Stewart
The AMAP Technical Committee is continuing the Asphalt Distress series white papers with Asphalt Cracking being the current topic. The EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) task force has chosen a Program Operator, and an LCA consultant, WAP and is pursuing the next sustainability goal for AMAP, working in conjunction with Asphalt Institute and NAPA. A call for PCR Committee volunteers will soon be sent out to all AMAP members.
Communications- Mike Matheny
The AMAP Communications committee had their Q1 meeting on Feb 12th, the meeting was virtual but very productive. We have some changes within our group, Mike Matheny will be taking over as the chairman and Toni Newsome will be the new executive board liaison. We discussed many topics during our meeting and have started working on several new projects. We have posted our call for abstracts for the 2024 conference in Salt Lake City on our website and continue to post on LinkedIn. We are currently revamping our booth banners and AMAP flyer materials. The plan is to have those available for upcoming user/producer group meetings.
Would also like to recognize Ramil Mercado for transitioning into the role of handling the LinkedIn page, taking over for Toni Newsome who has done an amazing job building and promoting our online presence. We have also updated several spots on the website and will continue working on that in the coming months.
