Regional Project Engineer Asphalt Operations

The Regional Asphalt Operations Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient use of Asphalt capital resources and is accountable for defining/executing capital investment projects in GAF’s oxidation plants. Projects they will lead are essential to support both top-line and bottom-line company growth. The Regional Asphalt Operations Project Engineer will also assist in creating reliability systems along with supporting the manufacturing facilities in order to provide optimum operational conditions in the safest and most cost effective manner. The successful candidate is a leader of capital project processes and of people: He/she must manage projects by guiding process owners---Operations Managers and manufacturing staff, Process Engineers, Capital Sourcing--- through the project schedule to perform on time and on budget.

Oxidation Process Excellence Manager

As Advanced Application Engineer Asphalt, you work with key players and industrial collaboration partners to shape and maintain asphalt testing standards with rheology and other methods. You will report to the Lead Scientist Rheology. This position is based at the Advanced Technical Services Center in Ashland, VA.
Responsibilities include:
- Representing Anton Paar's technology and interests a industry meetings including TRB, AMAP, PARC, and others.
- Active participation in asphalt related groups including ASTM, AASHTO, and others
- Conducting, evaluating, and presenting workshops and measurements related to asphalt.
- Researching and identifying market opportunities through work with industry groups
- Travel (40%-60%, including overnight) e.g. for meetings, demonstrations, and workshops.

Process R&D Technician II

Principal Analytical Chemist

The Principal Analytical Chemist-Asphalt will lead technical projects in the Analytical Laboratory. The Analytical Lab is expected to develop new methods and technologies for testing asphalt, asphalt additives, petroleum based materials, polymers and process by-products. The individual will apply a solid knowledge of molecular structure and property relationships and various chemical techniques to deformulate coatings and adhesive formulations for shingle products and applications. The Principal Scientist should have the ability to utilize, adapt and develop new methods for analytical techniques such as GPC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-vis, rheometry, TGA, DSC, DMA and other instrumentation to evaluate the properties, characteristics, performance and durability of asphaltic materials. The individual should be creative to develop new approaches to material testing and characterization.

Senior Process Research & Development Engineer - Asphalt

As part of the R&D Process Development team, the Process R&D Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative process technologies to meet our sustainability and profitability goals. This individual will join a growing organization with the mission to drive leadership in asphalt processing and shingle manufacturing and join the core team located in the greater Dallas metro area. Responsibilities will include leading and supporting scouting, scale-up and commercialization of new asphalt oxidation, transfer, coating, blending, and homogenization processes. They also will lead new technologies driving product development, operational excellence, and sustainability goals. Working with internal and external partners, s/he will help build the innovation pipeline and develop next generation products and processes to drive profitable growth. This position is a hands-on individual contributor, who will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to drive R&D programs working closely with new product development scientists, business representatives, process services engineers and operations teams.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for contributing to the culture and growth of the organization through mentorship and strategic input to the organizational design.
