December 2024 Committee Updates
Events Committee
The AMAP Events Committee met in November to review the 2024 Annual conference member takeaways and survey results. First, a big thanks to the many of you who filled out the survey. This provides us with valuable feedback to continue to improve our all aspects of our events.
The committee had a lot of positive feedback and noted items that should be improved for next year’s meeting. The committee is plans to meet in Q1 of 2025 to set the call for abstracts and other target dates for the annual meeting in Lexington, KY, October 14-16, 2025.
Communications Committee
The AMAP Communications committee had their Q4 meeting on October 17th, during our annual conference in Salt Lake City. During this meeting we discussed our year promoting AMAP at industry events. In 2024, we promoted AMAP in July at WRI's Peterson Asphalt Research Conference in Laramie, Wyoming, and in September at AAPT's Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. During 2025 we would like to build on that and make ourselves more present in the industry. Our goal is to make everyone in the industry aware of and the benefits of AMAP. Our annual conference was one of our best yet, with great attendance and member participation. We plan to build on that with our March 2025 workshop event in Dallas, registration opening soon! The communications committee has been working on a questionnaire to be sent out to our members that are a part of several organizations, not just AMAP. Be on the lookout for the email regarding this questionnaire.
