Dear Members,

As the year draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on an incredible year for our association and thank you for your unwavering support and involvement. Serving as your President has been a privilege, and I am proud of all we have accomplished together.

This year has been transformative for the asphalt industry and for our organization as we continue to navigate the challenges of a dynamic landscape. Through innovation and collaboration, we remain at the forefront of asphalt modification technologies and sustainable, low-carbon transportation materials, ensuring we are active contributors to the sustainability movement.

Change can often be challenging, but together we have embraced it, and I’m pleased to highlight some of the key advancements we’ve made this year:

  • Committees: We introduced comprehensive Charters and Guidelines for all committees, providing clarity on their roles, structure, and opportunities for member involvement.
    • Events: We hosted our first-ever Call for Abstracts, giving the industry a platform to share groundbreaking innovations in asphalt modification.
    • Education: Our annual conference workshop received a facelift, enhancing content that combines the fundamentals of modification with insights into their performance.
    • Technical: We formed a diverse membership group within our Technical Committee, including academic representatives, and established an EPD task force to collaborate with other leading industry organizations.
    • Communications: From promotional banners to branded merchandise at events, we’ve enhanced our visibility and engagement.
    • Advisory Groups: Our expanded Advisory Groups now include Roofing, Paving, and Agency members, addressing sector-specific challenges and trends.
    • Finance: The Finance Committee grew to oversee our investments and launch a new scholarship program to support the next generation of industry leaders.
    • Membership Growth: We continue to expand into new areas, welcoming more members, including those in our newest category – Allied Members.

We are committed to maintaining the programs and traditions you know and love, including the Traditional Workshop, Modification 101 & 201. This year it will take place March 4-6, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. The intended audience will continue to be on newcomers to the industry and agency personnel.

As we look to 2025, our mission remains clear: to grow, adapt, and lead within our industry. By leveraging the strength of our membership and fostering collaboration, we will continue to shape the conversations and decisions that drive our industry forward.

Thank you for your dedication and contributions throughout this productive year. Your commitment fuels our progress and ensures that our association remains a vital part of this ever-evolving industry. I encourage you to stay involved and engaged as we embark on another exciting chapter together.

Wishing you and your families a happy and healthy holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

Warm regards,
Tanya Nash

AMAP President
