June 2024 Committee Updates

Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee is rounding out Q2 with meetings to discuss new topics and the Annual Meeting. The Roofing Subcommittee’s needs statement for a white paper on ‘Recycling Mod-Bit Roofing or Polymer Modified Asphalt Roofing Products’ has been accepted by the Technical Committee and is underway. Join us at the October meeting to hear the summary of the work.

The Paving and Agency Subcommittee’s needs statement for Sustainability updates has also been accepted by the Technical Committee in terms of quarterly Tech Briefs, outlining the State of the State for Sustainability. The first one should be out by the end of Q3. Look for it on the AMAP website!

Communications Committee

The AMAP Communications committee had their Q2 meeting on May 14th. The committee would like to announce our new Vice Chairperson Julie Geyer, thank you Julie for taking on this role! We discussed many topics during our meeting and have started working on several new projects. Our AI Sustainability report has been added to the AMAP website, look for future website updates coming soon! Our Call for Abstracts are currently under review for the upcoming conference and will be announced and shared on our social media platforms very soon.

Our AMAP team will be present at several upcoming industry events including AAPT and WRI. Come say hello, check out the member benefits and pick up some of our new swag!

Technical Committee

The AMAP Technical Committee is formalizing the committee as a draft of the Charter and Guidelines have been submitted for Executive Committee review. Work is continuing on the Asphalt Distress series white papers with the Sub-committee working on Asphalt Cracking.  The Roofing Sub-Committee is working to deliver a Roofing Recycling paper based on the Roofing Needs Assessment.  The final draft of the Pavement Group Problem Statement has also been received.

The EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) Task Force has noted that UL has been chosen as the Program Operator and is aggressively pursuing the next sustainability goal for AMAP, working in conjunction with Asphalt Institute and NAPA. The call for PCR Committee application will be posted on their website soon.
