Dr. Jon A. Epps
During his 50-year career, Dr. Jon A. Epps has been a tirelessly innovative researcher, authoring or co-authoring over 500 publications in fields such as soil stabilization, recycling, flexible pavement design, polymer modification, warm mix asphalt, sustainable pavements, structural testing, and many others. As a distinguished professor at both Texas A&M and the University of Nevada Reno, Dr. Epps has inspired new generations of engineers and asphalt technologists by sharing his life-long passion for developing practical tools and by expanding the fundamental knowledge our industry needs to build longer-lasting, sustainable asphalt pavements. Just as the far-reaching results of his seminal research have directly influenced the technological course of our industry for the past five decades, his unwavering vision of constantly-improving asphalt technology provides us today with an exciting trajectory towards a transformative future.
When one considers the numerous highlights and outstanding achievements of Dr. Epps’ professional career, one is struck by the permanence of mission, steadfastness of conviction, and strength of dedication that have underpinned all his many, diverse accomplishments.
